Privacy Policy

This page is provided for general information and is updated from time to time; the date it was last revised is shown alongside it. It does not replace the specific terms of your quotation or order. If anything here is unclear, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

This policy explains what personal information Shayd collects through this website and our enquiry channels, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. Shayd is a trading name of Shayd Curtains and Blinds Trading L.L.C., a company licensed by Dubai Economy and Tourism. For the purposes of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL), Shayd Curtains and Blinds Trading L.L.C. is the controller responsible for your personal data. For any privacy question you can reach us at contact@shayd.ae or through the contact details on our website. We handle your information in line with the PDPL and other applicable UAE law.

Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry, booking request or quotation request we collect the details you provide: name, phone number, email address, address or community, property details, project requirements, and any photos or files you choose to upload. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp we keep the correspondence needed to handle your enquiry.

We also collect limited technical data needed to run the website securely, such as truncated, salted identifiers used for rate limiting. We do not run non-essential analytics or marketing trackers without your consent.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, schedule measurement visits, prepare quotations, deliver and install your order, provide warranty service, and keep records required for accounting and legal purposes. We contact you through the channel you chose, and we do not sell personal data.

We rely on the following legal bases under the PDPL, depending on the activity: to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you, which covers handling enquiries, measurements, quotations, delivery, installation and warranty; to comply with legal obligations that apply to us, such as accounting and commercial record-keeping; and our legitimate interest in running and securing our business, such as preventing abuse of our forms. We send optional marketing or updates only where you have given consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the services you have requested.

Sharing and processors

Your data is stored and processed by vetted service providers acting on our written instructions, including secure database and file hosting and email delivery. These providers may process personal data only as needed to provide their service to us and under confidentiality and data-protection commitments. If you contact us through WhatsApp, that service is provided by a third party under its own terms.

Installation teams see only what they need for your appointment. We disclose information to authorities or other third parties only where required or permitted by UAE law, or to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

International data transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process personal data on servers located outside the UAE. Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we do so only where the destination provides an adequate level of protection, or where appropriate safeguards or another basis permitted under the PDPL are in place, so that your information continues to be protected. You may contact us for more information about these transfers.

How we protect your data

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including access on a need-to-know basis, secure hosting, encryption of data in transit, use of vetted processors, and collecting only the information we need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep our safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold. If a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we handle it in line with our legal obligations, including notifying the competent authority and, where required, affected individuals.

Retention

Enquiry records that do not become orders are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized. Order, invoice, warranty and accounting records are kept for the commercial retention period required under UAE law, which for commercial and tax records is commonly around five years from the relevant transaction, so that we can honour warranties and meet our record-keeping obligations. After that period they are deleted or anonymized unless a longer period is required by law.

Photos and files you upload are deleted when they are no longer needed for your project. We keep personal data no longer than is necessary for these purposes.

Your rights and contact

Under the PDPL you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct inaccurate data, and to request deletion of your data. You may also object to or ask us to restrict or stop certain processing, request a copy of the data you provided in a portable form where applicable, and withdraw your consent to optional processing at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing we carried out before the withdrawal. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you; where any such processing takes place, you have the right to object to it.

To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a concern about how we handle your data, contact us at contact@shayd.ae or through the contact details on this website. We respond within a reasonable period and in line with applicable law. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may raise a complaint with the UAE Data Office.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults arranging work for their home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

When we make changes, we update the date shown at the top of this page and publish the revised version here. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information.
