The requirement
A large family majlis that hosts guests every week needed a real sense of occasion and full privacy from the street, in fabrics with genuine weight and colour.
The result
We dressed the windows in floor-length petrol-blue velvet with hand-set triple pleats, over a soft voile layer for daytime. The majlis now photographs like a reception hall, and the heavy velvet quietly warms the room’s acoustics, a benefit the family had not expected.
